YuChen CC Chang
YUCHEN is a PhD candidate in the Bioinformatics and Molecular Genetics Group at the Centre for Cardiovascular Research, Centenary Institute, Sydney, Australia. She is the recipient of the Heart Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship, supporting her research on genomic analysis of sudden cardiac death in young populations. With expertise in human genetics and programming (Linux, Python, and R), Yuchen analyses patient genomic data to identify pathogenic variants underlying inherited heart conditions.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she contributed to public health efforts by providing technical support, professional guidance, and scientific advice to public health teams and community members.
Yuchen was one of four students awarded a Melbourne Genomics Student Bursary to support her Master’s research. Following graduation, she contributed to a national Australian study performing genomic analysis on 600 patients with genetic heart disease.
